Cellulite Cupping in Brighton
Cupping is a non-invasive therapy that can be used to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Cellulite is fat, water and lymphatic fluid trapped in a webbing of tough collagen fibres under the skin. If this connective tissue becomes weakened, small pockets of fat and fluid can push through towards the surface, becoming more visible. It’s usually seen on thighs and the bottom, but can appear on the calves, ankles, stomach, and upper arms.
During a session of cupping, small cups are placed on the areas where the cellulite appears. Then, heat is introduced inside the glass cups by lighting an alcohol-soaked cotton ball which creates a vacuum inside the cups. The pressure created by the heat will create suction and help the glass cups fix themselves on the skin.
Aside from cellulite reduction, other benefits of cellulite cupping may also include improved blood circulation, ease from muscle and joint pains, and overall detoxification.
Cupping is actually a very ancient branch of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), but it has also been used in different cultures. The principles behind the Chinese cupping method are very similar to that of acupuncture, as the cups are positioned on different acupuncture points of the body, just like how needles are inserted in different places. This will stimulate a freer flow of “qi” or energy in the body to remedy many illnesses and conditions, such as formation of cellulite. Traditionally, the Chinese used animal horns and bamboo as materials to make cups, but most of the therapist now use glass or silicone cups, to trap the vacuum more effectively.
During the treatment, I start by applying massage oil over the areas where cellulite appears. Then, I place the cup on the skin with the method explained above. The cups are then slowly moved around the surface until the therapy session is finished. It is actually a very relaxing form of therapy.
A session of cupping lasts 60 min and costs £45.
8 sessions for £300
